I've been busy on my knees a lot lately. I am getting some answers to the questions I seek, but the details of which direction I need to go in my life is still out of reach, and hazy.

What does God see?

Last night at Bible study a prayer was brought up to ask to see yourself from God's perspective. This morning while I was in the shower (a great place to think by the way) I wondered what God sees when He looks at me. Does He see the physical me, my soul, or both? I need to get going, but I wanted to put this question out in the void. I may elaborate on this entry later.

I wrote a poem the other day that I thought I'd share here. I'm adding it to my poetry book I'm writing as well. Here it is: God's Call God's call is for one and all, especially those who fall. God's call gives you a choice to obey, or to turn away. Some choices are hard, but end with a great reward. A reward that never fades likes a pair of shades. God's call is for good. Will you do what you should? The reward will be so great that I can hardly wait to start enjoying what I've missed since a serpent learned to hiss sweet nothings in the ear of one that God held dear. Since the fall, the world has been hell for all. Those who follow God have had a difficult path to trod. How much longer must mankind wait until we can see the pearly gate that awaits us at the entrance to a place that is the home of God's saving grace? God does not want us to fall, so we must heed the instructions when we hear God's call. Now I'm going to answer Unit 8's ...

The following two paragraphs are from my work in Experiencing God : Weekly Review Question: 7. What has God done through circumstances that has given you a sense of His timing or direction concerning any aspect of His will? Seeing Jeremiah and Angela after 18 years. My dad is able to see them one more time on Earth before dying, and he wouldn't have had the chance if he went in his own timing like he wanted to. My dad hasn't died yet, but he wanted to a couple years ago. "There is not one inch in the entire area of our human life about which Christ, who is Sovereign of all, does not cry out, 'Mine!'" The previous quote was stated by Abraham Kuyper. I found the quote in the book, Heaven , when I was reading the section on resurrection. I wanted to share this particular quote because it made me think of the seagulls in Finding Nemo . Whenever a possible morsel swam by, the gulls would shout, "Mine, mine, mine!" over and over again until t...

I've recently started reading a book called "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. I'm not very far into it, but it has been rather insightful. I've come to the point of keeping a notebook close by to write down any quotes that make me think, and changes the way I see things about my spiritual walk. It's a good thing for me, though. Anyway, following is a quote from the book, and the reason why I chose to share it here. The quote is taken from page 54 of the book. "It isn't merely an accommadation to our earthly familial structure, for instance, that God calls himself a father and us children. On the contrary, he created father-child relationships to display his relationship with us, just as he created human marriage to reveal the love relationship between Christ and his bride (Ephesians 5:32)." My family got an answer to a prayer last night! First, a bit of history: When my sister, Amee, was younger she had two children, a boy and a girl. She had bee...

I was doing some devotional Bible reading last night along with my Sunday school work because I couldn't sleep. The reason I couldn't sleep is because I took a 2 1/2 hour nap earlier in the afternoon. I came home from a long week at work, and just crashed. I woke up feeling rejuvenated, but I also felt like I could've slept all night. While I was spending some alone time with God, which helps me get to sleep when I'm having a restless night, I came across some scriptures that I wanted to add to an entry here because they show me that God is in control of everything and He is there for me even now. He's showing me through the Bible that everything will turn out okay in my life as long as I call on Him first and foremost. Scripture #1: "My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me." -Psalm 31:15, NIV Scripture #2: "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." -Isai...

As a simple message from an eloquent psalm reminds us, I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2) May the psalmist's patterns be ours as we follow the example of Mary and Martha and call on Jesus, the Ultimate Resource and Friend, when problems arise and crises come. The previous quote came from page 248 of my Sunday school book. I felt like I needed this as a reminder of how great the Lord is. Sometimes I feel myself faltering, and I've been so busy lately with work that I haven't really made the time to be alone with God like I want to. It's my fault really because if I was disciplined enough than I would make the time no matter what. That is definitely something I need to work on changing. When I have my time with God, my daily, monotonous activities are much easier for me to handle. I have been relying on God lately to help me cope with my uncle's death. I know it...

My Sunday school class has been doing a book called The Remarkable Women of the Bible by Elizabeth George. Today we finished talking about the fourth chapter related to Mary, the mother of Jesus. There were a couple of things I felt a need to journal that seemed kind of significant to what I've been feeling lately. "Dear one, consider two lessons from Mary's difficult life that we can take with us along life's painful path. "Lesson #1: Life's pain should never allow us to neglect caring for our loved ones. Jesus shows us that. Despite the agonizing pain He felt as He hung dying on the cross, He was thinking of Mary, and he called John to provide for her. "Lesson #2: Life's pain should never cause us to doubt God's care for us. The Almighty is with us always, even to the of the age (Matthew 28:20), and He will not fail to provide for us (Psalm 23:1) or to love us to the end. "Thank God for His unfailing love and care for you...and then...

Hello to all who may come here. My name is Mandy, and this is a site that I will be updating sporadically with anything spiritually that is happening in my life as I walk with God. I have been doing an Experiencing God Bible study on Friday mornings, and wanted to use this entry as a spiritual journal of things going on in that, and other Bible studies I may be taking. With the Experiencing God book came handouts. One such handout was on keeping a spiritual journal with a weekly review. We are on Unit 6 in the book, so the following questions will be the weekly review questions, and my answers to them. 1. What has God revealed to you about Himself? (His name, His character, His nature) God has shown me a lot of mercy, and love since I've started the Bible study itself. One such example of His mercy would be: One night when I was going to bed there was a dark figure floating over my bed, and an angel at the foot of my bed. The angel commanded the dark figure to le...
